Why spend the extra money for Sea Salt vs. good old fashioned table salt? It’s well worth it and here’s why:

Sea salt comes from natural sea water that is evaporated. It’s from the sea. Regular salt is mined from land surface minerals and then refined.

Sea salt contains natural minerals such as iron, iodine, magnesium, potassium and 88 others I won’t bore you with by listing.  Talk about a natural way to recover from a hard workout! One pinch of real sea salt along with a squeeze of lemon mixed into water is the best natural recovery drinks you can find.

Minerals are vital for our heart, liver and digestive organs. Sea salt also contains Zinc which is important for the body’s ability to heal. Think about it, Zinc is found in healing antibiotic ointments.

Regular salt is missing natural minerals and merely has added iodine along with an anti caking material such as calcium phosphate.  Yum!  😉

Chefs swear that sea salt tastes better. I personally love the coarse gray sea salt on eggs and popcorn, asparagus and baked potatoes.  The surprise of a coarse salty crunch makes me happy.

Sea Salt is also beautiful to use; imagine shades of pink, gray, white and orange next to your stove.  Don’t be fooled by imitations, pure Sea salt will list nothing but minerals on the ingredient list. Remember that you may have to adjust measurements in recipes, sea salt is more flavorful than regular salt; start on the shy end and see what you think as you can always add more.

If you love to cook, your salt choice is one thing you shouldn’t skimp on.
