As fall surrounds us and winter approaches, it’s time to think ahead and store a little herbal medicine in your pantry.
This tea protects with the naturally antiseptic properties of thyme, ginger and throat soothing sage. Sage is quite miraculous when it comes to soothing a sore throat and stopping a cough.
I make this every fall and the recipe makes plenty to make it through the long winter. Sweeten with additionally soothing and antiseptic packed honey!
Immune and throat soothing tea:
1/3 c dried sage leaf
1/3 c powdered ginger
1/3 c dried thyme
Combine in a jar, shake and top with a tight lid.
Makes approx 30 cups. You’ll need a tea ball or strainer.

Do the herbs have to be dried? I have a lot of fresh thyme and sage, plus ginger-root. Can I steep those and have the same effect?
Hi Stella,
If you use fresh herbs, use 3 times the amount the recipe calls for dried. Dried is more concentrated. If you use fresh, simmer in a pan vs. steep…
Enjoy!
